Happy New Year

I wanted to wish every one a happy new year since Mommy says I'll be asleep when it becomes New Year here. I guess since I was only aware for the latter half of 2009 I can't make any asumptions of the new year. I hope every one is safe though in what ever you do!

Two Recomendations

As my post below says, I am getting teeth. Most pediatricians say that (Mommy has been saying this to me) by 3 months I should have a wash cloth to clean my mouth out when I take a bath as to get used to something in my mouth. Well that didn't happen but Mommy did buy me the things below so I can start now to build a better habit of brushing my gums/teeth. The first is the Green sprout Tooth brush. Its not cheep but Mommy likes there is a circular disk that acts like a guard so I don't jam it in my throat and choke on it. The bristles are soft and very flexible and can be chewed on for days. I can hold it my self as well, but Mommy and Daddy move it around so other parts of my mouth can be brushed too.

Toothpaste, Mommy uses the Earths Best kind that can be swallowed. I didn't care for the taste as much as I do now. I was unsure of the brush that comes with it though because it was Mommy's finger and I didn't have control like I do with the toothbrush above.

three teeth!

So as I am getting older, I am growing and one place that is growing is my mouth. Teeth that is! I have been drooling and showing all of the signs of teething, but when mommy looks in my mouth there is nothing but red to white gums (as the teeth get closer to the surface). Yesterday she looked in there and saw three things that were not there before plain white teeth. Not the full teeth but the bottoms of three. They are the top two frount teeth and one to the left of the two frount teeth. Mommy tried to get a picture of them but I didn't want my mouth to be open as long as it took my mommy to find a camera. Mommy said Santa was a little late but teeth are being delivered as requested. She's silly! More pictures to come!

Merry Christmas!

I just had my first Christmas! It was amazing! There were lots of presents (as you see above) and I was able to get a lot of clothes that I might or might not fit in to right now. See being in the in-between stage of the height weight category makes Mommy nervous, because I am in the upper 9 month old clothing in weight and the lower 12 month old clothing in height.

Things I Liked:
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Storybook Rhymes
My Pal Violet
Carters Clothes
A Baby Whoozit

Things that were not so hot:
Vtech - Baby's Learning Laptop
and a few others that I'll put up latter

Well I hope every one had a Merry Christmas! Are you looking forward to the New Year?

Three weeks with out a post!

I am so sorry for keeping all of you in the dark for three weeks! Mommy and Daddy have been fighting the cold and colds, work and keeping up with a growing me. I promise in the new year to keep this up-to-date with the most resent happenings.

The first weekend of December we went to a grocery store and saw a Santa Representative. I was told that the real Santa depends on them to ask all little boys and girls what they want and emails Santa what they want. I want my two front teeth! Mommy asked for me since I can't speak right now. He has a few more days to bring them or I am going to be mad!

I turned 6 months last Saturday, December 12, 2009. For my 6 month birthday I got a food maker for mommy to make my baby food in when I get out of the yucky mush they make me try now. It is SUPER hard with out a high chair, but Mommy is making due with the few items we have around here; including Daddy!

I got my 6 month shots on December 14, 2009! They hurt a lot more now that I realize what the person, Mommy calls a nurse, does with the long poky things called needles. Mommy says I was a trooper but I don't like when they hurt. I also got my H1N1 (piggy flu) shot. I need to go back for the booster next month. Not looking forward to that! The growth is posted on the side (Bella Milestones). I am getting big at 20 pounds 8 oz, the doctor said I didn't grow taller but it could be the way the nurse held my feet when taking the measurement. Mommy's proud of me even if I didn't grow that much in a month. Though I think I have. We will wait for the next check up and I heard Mommy talking with Daddy about doing it themselves.

This past week was another busy week for Mommy and Daddy. They were able to get more things for this holiday called Christmas which is coming up this week and it felt for them time was speeding up.

Yesterday Daddy got Mommy a new computer for herself. She was sharing a computer for a while with Daddy because the older computer was broken and she couldn't play her games. I got a new computer too! It is not as snazzy as the one Mommy got but its safe for me to play with and they said it was part of my Christmas presents from them. I didn't get them anything, but then I do give them presents all the time. (Think hard on that one and email Mommy if you still don't know!)

I didn't win the Gap photo shoot thing Mommy entered me in to but Thank you for all the people who voted for me!

Week to remember

So here is how the last few days have gone.

Wednesday - Daddy stayed home because there was no work at his work, so he stayed home and had fun with me and Grandma. Mommy came home and started to cook up a storm!

Thursday - Mommy and Daddy cleaned and cleaned! Then cooked some more! I had tummy time again and I am starting to scoot when I am on all four limbs. Then Grandma came over and ate with Mommy and Daddy. Though I was a little fussy I enjoyed seeing some of my family all in one place. I know there is more so I don't want to exclude them!

Friday - Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Mall and saw a lot of people. I don't know exactly what they were doing but there were a lot of people that had bags and packages!

Saturday - We all went out for Breakfast and I got to see my Godfather! He was working so we didn't spend too long with him but I enjoyed the time I spent with him. Also one of his co-workers made me cry! After Mommy made it all better, we said goodbye and went to another store where Daddy bought parts for Mommy's computer and we went home. Daddy was trying to explain what he was doing but I can't learn it all in one day! We also got my first Christmas Tree!

Today, Sunday, we went to the Dicken's Fair where a lot of people commented that I was a cute baby! Mommy got me this cute headband that we are using on the top of the Christmas tree to keep it nice and safe so we can have it for a long time!

Gobble Gobble

Almost Thanksgiving, Mommy calls it Turkey Day. I still have no idea of why we celebrate it and then celebrate Christmas. Mommy says there are other holidays that we don't celebrate but other people do. This world is confusing!

Update my neck thing is getting A LOT better! Mommy needs to take a picture of it to show you all what my neck looks like now versus the picture below.

Ta ta for now!

Mommy's Sick

So this week has been a few MD visits. As I've been getting better with the neck thing (See below posts), Mommy has been sick. Monday I stayed with her and did not go to GrandCare. Tuesday I went with Mommy and Grandma Fran to the hospital as Mommy had a doctor's appointment. She got a sick note from the MD and she could stay out all week from work. The only thing is that I have been shuttled for a few hours to GrandCare so that Mommy can get a bit of rest. Unfortunately, she has been not resting! yesterday I come back and the dining room had been cleaned. It needed it but Daddy wasn't happy that Mommy wasn't sleeping. And today I might come back to a messy house but at least Mommy took a shower to clear out her lungs. Tomorrow is the last day of the week and another 3-4 hrs at GrandCare. Then next week its a short week with a thing called Thanksgiving Mommy and Daddy are talking about, then a thing called Christmas. There are too many things I need to remember right now its making my head hurt - in a good way!

My neck thing

Here it is before it got the treatment of Desitene.

Mommy still wants to wait a week before we call it a success. Even now with the treatment my neck is perfectly pink and it doesn't look like it ever had it, but it can come back and she doesn't want to make it seem like it was an over night success just yet (even though it seems like it is!).

MD visit (not scheduled)

Yesterday Grandma came home with me and told Mommy and Daddy that there was a patch of skin under my neck that was pink and looked raw. Mommy said she would call the advice nurse because it was something she was concerned about too because she noticed it in a smaller form a while back. Well, Mommy called the advice nurse and she said make sure its dry and put some over the counter medication and then Mommy asked about my breathing because I tend to breath in like I don't have breath when I get excited and the nurse on the phone said better safe then sorry and mommy made an appointment for last night. The doctor saw us right a way and said nothing was wrong with my breathing and no Asthma or any thing in my lungs! The patch of red skin was a condition called Exima and that we would need to have medication on it for a week! I'll keep you posted on before and after shots of my neck problem a little later. Got to get Mommy ready for her work!

An update

Since Mommy has gone back to work I haven't had much time to write about exciting adventures or how the time has flown by since I was born in June. I am almost 5 months and so far this is what I have learned:

1. Mommy and Daddy love me so much that sometimes its hard to chose my favorite. Daddy thinks Mommy is the one I really like because she can calm me down most of the time when I cry. I love them both for what they provide me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

2. Bath time is starting to become fun. I hate being cold after a bath, but Mommy and Daddy are drying me a little faster each time and turning on a small space heater so the room is nice and toasty when I get out if its a cool night.

3. Weekends are fun! The time Daddy and Mommy are both here looking after me, sleeping in, getting a lot of attention from both of them and the weekend trips in the car. Its fun to go to sleep in one city and wake up in another one.

4. People called relatives. I've met a few dozen people that are related to me (many more that are not). They are really nice people that I wouldn't change for the world. I haven't met all of them but I hope to meet them very soon and give them my heart melting smile.

Happy Halloween

This is my first Halloween! On Friday I got dressed as a pirate and went to Mommy's work. I couldn't play any of the games but I did get held by Aunt Eva and Nina and got my picture taken a few times. I saw other babies my age and younger! They were tiny and in strollers. I did get my first Halloween treat but I couldn't eat it! I wasn't scared at all the weird bigger kids that dressed up in different costumes. Maybe I am missing the point. No fear! Today Mommy and Daddy went out to breakfast and went shopping on Sacramento Street. They were looking at some cool toys for me but in little over a month its another holiday called Christmas where I hear that people get things and give things. And a fat guy gets to come into your home and leaves things for you. Guess I have to see it to beleive it.

Vote For ME!

As you see on the side bar over there Mommy entered me in a contest for a photo shoot. The winner of the "Fan Favorite" gets a bunch of prizes that frankly I won't remember because I am still young. But Mommy is making a big push for me to win or at least place in the 20 kids to get photographed for use in Gap stores. I think that would be cool to have a photo shoot again. The first time was with Mommy and Daddy and the pictures were sent to most of my grand parents (some coming soon). So from now until November 17th, Vote for Bella once a day, and I won't spit up on you! Just kidding, I'll still spit up on you!

PS Tell your friends to vote as well!

Pumkin Patch!

Today the whole family went to Half Moon Bay to the Pumpkin Festival. There weren't too many pumpkins at the festival (as you see above), but Mommy and Daddy got their exercise in for the day by going down and then up a big hill to get to the festival and then back to the car.

Here I am trying to see what a pumpkin tastes like. Mommy and Daddy didn't want me to put it in my mouth because it had dirt on it. I did like the pumpkin patch because I was able to get out and walk with Daddy and got to see many of what I now know are pumpkins. Mommy says I am going to eat them soon and I got confused. I'll just have to wait and see what she means because if I wasn't allowed to put the one I am holding in my mouth, then what is the deal with the ones I can eat? And yet another confusing contradiction in my mind.

My Crib

Yesterday was an exciting day. I got a brand new bed! Daddy put it together with the help from me and Mommy. I slept in it for a grand total of 30 minutes last night. But it has plenty of leg room and a drawer that has my blankets now.

The Great Pumpkin

Tomorrow I actually get to see a pumpkin! Mommy says we are going to go super early so that we can get my first pumpkin and take pictures with out a lot of people in the way. I wonder what a pumpkin is because I don't think I have ever seen one up close. Stay tuned for more tomorrow as I learn what a pumpkin is and hopefully get a good looking one.

Today Daddy, Mommy and I went to a place in the mall called the Picture People. There was a lady who took our pictures and after an hour of flashing lights and Mommy and Daddy holding me for the lady, they were all done. The pictures came out very good. I don't know if Mommy and Daddy are saying that because it was me in the pictures but they looked picture perfect. Mommy and Daddy bought a few of the pictures they were showing and were put in frames and some were put in an envelope so they wouldn't get messed up. Mommy says its one thing off her to do list but for me it was a fun time until I was tired!

4 month shots

Today I get my 4 month shots! Mommy isn't going to be there at the appointment (makes Mommy a little sad), but Daddy is going to be there! He said he's going to talk with the doctor about my lack of sleep. Mommy brought it up before but they were not really listening as much to her. Also he's going to ask about my vitimens that are yucky to take!
Keep tuned in for my stats as another MD is blown away about my growth or I am finally getting back to the normal curve. Also if I need the next size diapers very soon!

Got my first cold and crib

Last week Mommy and I got our first colds of the year. I had a slight fever of 100.1-100.4! Mommy called the advice line and a nurse said to watch my temp if it got past 101.0 then call again or go to the Emergency Room. Luckly for me the fever broke the next day and again Mommy stayed home to take care of me.

I have some other news as well at the begining of this month I have a crib a new matress and washed crib bedding! It is not yet put together because Daddy doesn't know if he has a job for this month and we might move to a different location. I am hopeing that he has his job and this weekend I can strech out in my new diggs!

Rooting for the Home Team

Last night I stayed out later than my bed time because Mommy and Daddy took me to my first Baseball Game! We stayed for 3 innings but it was exciting! I got a little startled when Mommy and the other people around me started to yell or make a noise of any kind (I was trying to sleep). The Giants won the game 4-1 so Mommy says I am good luck for them. Also have a "My First Game" Certificate too!

A Grand Dad day

Mommy went back to work on Friday and it was fun to spend time with my Daddy. Then the weekend came and I was glad Mommy was home again! Then Monday came and Mommy went to work in the morning and I spent it with Daddy. We hung out and I napped a bit and also just had fun. Then Mommy came home and Daddy left for work.

Today was a different day. Mommy went to work and Daddy went to work. I had Grandpa J to look after me. I was very good. I ate my brunch and took a nap for two whole hours! He did a sketch of me which Mommy will post later for all to see. He changed my diaper and let me listen to the radio while I was taking a nap. When Mommy came home I was fussy and settled down again after Mommy held me for a few minutes. We went to Wendy's and while Grandpa and Mommy talked I took a short nap and listened to their conversation. After that we came home and Grandpa left and went to his house. Mommy is now watching me and we are awaiting Daddy to come back home from his long day at work.

Oh yeah, Grandpa said this is the first day of Fall. What is that?

Bella meets the DDS

I went to the dentist office with Mommy today. She had her teeth cleaned (I did not know teeth needed to be cleaned!) and x-rayed. I got a rubber ducky and a lot of attention from the people that work there. After Mommy got checked the doctor looked in my mouth and said that teeth are there but not yet broken through and she said that some babies get low fevers but not all so Mommy can only wait and see.

A Special Treat

Here is another YouTube video that you all might enjoy. Its a little dark but I am still there in the center!

Two Week Wrap up

Forgive me for not posting for a while. As I said below Mommy, Daddy and Grandma Fran have kept me real busy, so I haven't had time to post anything in a while. So here is a great run down of what I have been doing.

Sept. 3: Grandma came and we all had dinner together. She brought stuffed animals and a bee stockings with a bee on the butt. Mommy wants to get the giraffe stockings as well.
Sept. 4: Went around town with Grandma and Mommy. Did some site seeing of different trailer parks around the San Francisco area. We got turned around because a few of the trailer parks were not there anymore. There were new houses not trailers!
Sept. 5: Grandma Fran took me for a couple of hours because Mommy and Daddy say its hard to clean a house with me around due to all the dust and other stuff that they don't want me to inhale that was kicked up by the cleaning. Daddy did laundry at what they call a Laundry Mat. He did 20 loads of laundry, not even my laundry! When we got back it was a nice clean house!
Sept. 6: Had a chill morning with Mommy and Daddy and then went to a BBQ at the T's home. Daddy made brisket that was the hit of the party and every one thought it was chicken. It was beef! Got to see and meet some more people. There weren't any people my age but hopefully I can soon.
Sept. 7: Another chill day with Mommy and Daddy, in the after noon we went to meet Auntie, Uncle, Cuz and Grandma Fran for lunch. It was very good food of what I could see and good company too. Later after shopping we went to Aunties home and saw the new addition to their family. A dog named Poppy. I saw lots of cats there too! They almost have a zoo in their home!
Sept. 8 and 9: Had another two days with Grandma Fran. Mommy was tired most of the two days because I kept her up. We had some of the mornings to ourselves as it was nap time for both of us. Mostly I did the napping. Grandma Fran got the trailer site she wanted and will be here in a few weeks to look after me at GranCare for a few months while Mommy and Daddy work during the day.
Sept. 10: Mommy and I had a nice relaxing day. We went on a walk and had some fun with Tummy Time. I am able to turn over tummy to back, now and occasionally back to tummy. I am still working on that along with trying to use my legs and arms to crawl.
Sept. 11: Field Trip Friday! We went to San Francisco and had a good time downtown. We didn't really do much since Mommy is a little broke right now. We saw all the pretty outfits in Bloomingdale's and saw some cute outfits for me, but like I said Mommy couldn't spend that much money so we looked around and shopped with our eyes.
Sept. 12: Mommy gave Daddy some time to play a thing called a PlayStation3. So Mommy and I went to a craft store and bought some craft items to make some pages in what mommy calls a scrapbook and to make a background for this blog when she gets a chance.
Sept. 13: Went to see Grandpa John. Daddy wasn't feeling so good, he had a bad headache so he stayed home. While there Grandpa made funny noises that came out of his mouth and we walked to a place for Mommy and Grandpa to get lunch. Then went back to his house for a while longer so we can give daddy some more time to rest his head. Daddy took me out for a little bit so that Mommy could have some down time. Latter that evening it started to (as Mommy and Daddy put it) rain. Mommy took me out side to feel a rain drop or two on my toes and then came right back in and wiped them off, so I don't get sick. They also got out my rain cover for my stroller.

Today, it's 4 days till Mommy goes back to work and she is very sad about it along with the smarts that she needs to go back to work so that we all have kibble (Food) to eat and that we can have a roof above our head. So I think Mommy is going to have a field trip on Thursday.

Sorry I haven't written in a while. Mommy and Daddy and Grandma Fran have kept me real busy over the last week. I promise to update you all tomorrow but here is something Mommy did to celebrate me turning 3 months old today.

A Day at the Zoo

Yesterday I went to the zoo with Mommy and slept through the WHOLE experience. Mommy tells me that we saw lions and tigers and bears and giraffes and penguins and a kola bear and kangaroos and monkeys and two polar bears and fancy birds! She tells me that there is a baby monkey that was born a few days a head of me (June 7th). While we were there Mommy got some pictures of me in my stroller and the animals behind. Daddy was at work so he couldn't go this time but there is always the next time.
At the Zoo shop Mommy got me a stuffed giraffe and the key to the Zoo! Its not the elephant key that Mommy has and Daddy grew up with its actually a Monkey key. Mommy put the key in the Mary Jane box so we don't lose it and the kitties don't eat the plastic string.

Going to the zoo

Today I am going to the zoo for the first time with Mommy. I am going to write more as we are just getting out the door so be on the look out for more!

Went on a field trip with Mommy

Mommy didn't want us to stay inside all day yesterday so this is what we did. First we went on CalTrains and I did not mind the noise at all! Then we went to AT&T park to see if there was a Giants game I could see for the first time. Nope, they were away for the weekend. Mommy was disapointed, but she bought me a winter hat and herself a hat, but there wasn't one for Daddy. We were about to leave when Mommy saw they gave tours of the ball park. It was something to do and we had no where to go so she got a ticket and we walked around the ball park. Half way through my diaper needed changing and I was HUNGRY! So Mommy tried to keep me calm, but since we could not stop to eat or change me, I just didn't stop untill Mommy went to Borders and changed me there she also fed me in the childrens section. After that Mommy bought me a few more books. One book was a big book of Nursery Rhymes, now Mommy has no excuse for forgetting or needing to look on line for the words. We walked to BART and waited for Daddy to get off work.

Today we got a late start so me, Daddy and of course Mommy ate lunch at the Beach. We went to the water and I got my feet dunked in the Pacific ocean. The water was cold but I did not cry at all! Then we went across town to CostCo and we got some more of my birth pictures for the birth announcement. Mommy got one other picture for herself to put in a picture frame. Then went to AT&T park to get tour tickets so Daddy can see most of what we saw and so Mommy could see the things we missed on the last tour. After that we drove down to Fry's in a place called Palo Alto. I did not see much, there were a lot of people going in and out of the store. Boy, I have had a long day!

Sunday went to the Doctors (TMI)

Saturday night Mommy was changing my diaper and she noticed a glob of stuff in my BM. It wasn't normal for a baby to have that and she called the advice nurse right away. They said it was a good thing that Mommy called and scheduled a non emergency visit to the doctors for Sunday. Mommy saved the diaper to make sure that if it didn't happen again then we would have a sample of it to show. Well it didn't and this is what we found out.

1. I am a very happy two month old and gained 6 more ounces.
2. Mommy needs to lay off the milk.
3. I might have a milk allergy like Mommy and Daddy.

Now I have to help Mommy clean because we are having a visitor tomorrow!

First Day in the park

Friday Daddy had a company picnic in Larkspur, so me and Mommy went too. While we were there a lot of people from Daddy's work got to meet me and I got to talk with them with out being in a HOT office. I got to put my fingers in the grass for the first time and got to see water that wasn't Ocean water or Bay water! The grass felt weird because it didn't look like the grass Mommy and Daddy give kitties. It was shorter and had little things that Mommy calls daisy's (a type of flower not the Girl Scouts). I didn't get to go to the play structure because it was sunny and I am a little too small to go play on the play structure and the swings. Mommy doesn't want to mess up my neck and she says there will be plenty of time to go to playgrounds and swing and go down slides! Then while we were going home, Mommy drove the car because Daddy said he was getting tired.

Mommy and Daddy are going to decide on a crib in a few days. The Pediatrition said by 3 months I should have a crib because I might roll away in the co-sleeper because I am getting more active. Mommy told the Dr. that I am able to roll myself on my side since I was a few days old, but I think because the bed can't be lowered and when I start pulling myself up from naps and sleep, I might hit the floor. They are looking at the convertiable cribs. They are a crib, toddler bed, a day bed (fancy way of saying a toddler bed with out the rails) and either full or queen size beds after that. Mommy has seen a crib that can go from a full to a queen size bed! I wish I can get one of those beds!

Swing, Swing, Swing!

Today my 2 month birthday gift arrived. A swing from Mommy and Daddy. I was asleep when Mommy put it together so I didn't get to swing in it the moment it was ready for me. Mommy knows not to wake a sleeping baby.

I had my two month shots on Monday and didn't get a bad case of the fusses, but I did stay up very late and couldn't be soothed for anything. Mommy was the one that stayed up with me and tried to calm me down. Tuesday I was a bit better, but I had a slight temperature, but nothing too dramatically high for us to go to the ER and scare Mommy and Daddy with. I did get to sleep around 8ish and didn't wake up till 11:30-12 and woke up again around 4:30ish for food. Mommy had me stay with Daddy when I woke up because Mommy didn't get to sleep her self till 1:30am just in case I was going to be difficult again. But I was not and had some Daddy/Daughter time with him (even though I was sleeping most of the time).

Doctor Visits

Aug. 5th doctor visit was to see if I had any thing wrong with me because I am not sleeping like a "baby". I know since I am one I should be sleeping like one, but I am not and Mommy and Daddy were worried that because I am not, I could have some thing wrong with me. The doctor checked me and I was perfectly healthy. The doctor gave Mommy a sheet of 20 things to do if i was fussy (most Mommy and Daddy tried), and told her that if I am up for an hour, I should have a nap after the hour. The doctor also said a swing will help as well and recommended a swing that was bought Saturday, so it should arrive either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Today is a very painful day. Today I get my two month shots. Mommy is not looking forward to them because I might have a bad reaction and get sick. She has the Tylenol, but not looking forward to a sick Bella. Mommy wants a happy healthy me!

Long weekend and more!

Sorry about the delays in the blog. Mommy and I have been very busy and sleepy!
This past weekend Mommy rented a car and we were moblie with out Daddy. Mommy drove to San Francisco to get a note from the doctor to extend her medical leave so she can stay with me for a little while longer. Then we waited for grandma as she was flying in with cousin from the month long vacation. Then Daddy met us at the hotel room and told us that he had a 4 day weekend to spend with us. Grandma, Mommy and I were happy that Daddy had the time to spend with us! Then at dinner time we met Auntie and then listened to the conversation they were having, but I couldn't understand what they were saying so I slept through it.
Friday - We picked up Grandma and cousin from her hotel and went to breakfast. Again I was in the car seat listening to what the big people were saying. Then we went to a place called CostCo and put in a picture to be developed for what they call my Birth Announcement. It took a very long time (one whole hour) to get processed and I was not the only one bord. Cousin was bord too and kept busy by pushing me around in my stroller. After that we went to a place called Whole Foods. After Mommy fed me we walked through the food area and Mommy got her lunch. Then we went back to the hotel everyone ate lunch and the then Mommy and Cousin went swimming! I couldn't stay in the pool area too long so Daddy took me back up to the room and stayed there till I was hungry and me and Daddy got Mommy to feed me. After she took a shower, Mommy fed me and waited till Cousin's daddy came to pick him up. After that we went to get the grown ups food.
Saturday - Spent the afternoon with Grandma. Mommy and Daddy went to see a movie, Harry Potter. I guess Grandma was a bit out of practice because she had a hard time catching her breath. And thanked Mommy and Daddy for coming back when they did. She said I went through a lot of outfits, all my food, some formula and I was still hungry! After Mommy fed me we all went to dinner and said our good nights!
Sunday - Daddy and I had a treat. Daddy's dad Grandpa A came and spent some time with us. Auntie, Uncle and Cousin also were there along with Mommy and Grandma. Mommy took a few pictures and Grandpa A had to leave. They ate breakfast and I looked around at the head of the table. Mommy changed my daiper and I went potty again while I was getting changed and Mommy did not have the diaper bag so I was half naked baby untill I had a new oneies on me. After the breakfast the small group that was my family went to Birlingame and up to San Francisco to kill some time before taking Grandma to the airport. Then we went to the Oakland Airport and said goodbye to Grandma, I am going to miss her. After that Mommy and Daddy got pizza and went home. On the way home I started to cry but Mommy couldn't hold me because we were in traffic for a very long time! Daddy was upset because the car was running out of gas and there was a lot of traffic on the road.
Monday - We went to San Francisco again this time for Mommy's doctor. After that we saw Mommy's step-daddy Grandpa J. We all went to Best Buy to show Grandpa J some cameras because his is broken beyond repair. Then we went to what Mommy and Daddy call the Hall of Records to get my birth certificate to prove that I exist and that Mommy and Daddy are really my Mommy and Daddy. Grandpa J had to go so we dropped him off at the bus stop and wished him well. We had some fun downtown and Mommy had to return the car. She was sad, but will get a car soon, she hopes!
Tuesday - Daddy returned to work and I got to sleep late in the night so it was another typical night. During the day I didn't take any nap and Mommy thought I would pass out! Nope, I was still wide a wake till 3 in the morning. Mommy called the advice nurse to see if there was something wrong that we would need to see the doctors right away. Nope, they told her to call in the morning to get a doctor's appointment and give me gas drops to see if that will calm me down. It made me fart but nothing major came to be.
Today - Daddy called the advice line and got a mid day appointment but the doctor was able to see me earlier. I'll write later to what she says. By the way, the nurse just weighted me and I am 12 pounds 12 oz!

Gas, gas and more gas

Lately I have been having a lot of gas pains this is leading to a lot of sleepless nights for both Mommy and Daddy and myself. Mommy thinks she found a solution. She gives me drops that help process the gas and then just pats my bottom till I pass out and go to sleep. I usually pass the gas a few times as my body processes the drops. Even with Mommy's bad back she is trying to make me comfortable. Daddy gets more frustrated because he can't sleep and Mommy is now in the acceptance period and she hopes, like I do, that this passes soon and I can get them on a schedule that allows them more sleep.

Mommy threw her back out and good news!

This morning when Mommy was getting me ready for a trip to San Francisco to see another doctor for her shoulder (Mommy sure has a lot of Doctor visits!) she got up out of bed with me and screamed in pain. She couldn't stand up straight and Daddy told her to get some thing called a pain killer to help her with her back. Daddy had to stay home because Mommy couldn't lift me in my car seat if she tried! After the commotion we went to San Francisco and saw her doctor. He worked some kinks out of Mommy's bad back and shoulder.

Then we went to see a doctor for me. Mommy made an appointment on Friday with the Lactation people to make sure she is giving me enough food for today. When we were there Mommy found out that I weigh 11 lbs 12oz! The doctor said I was almost eating too much (You can never get enough of the good Mommy Milk!) because of what I weighted. She looked at me while feeding and told Mommy that I was eating because I was growing and that made me gassy and upset, but because Mommy and Daddy are new at parenting they thought some of my screams were of hunger and not because of the gas. The doctor recomended some gas drops and told them that I can actually sleep a little longer with out the fear of me wanting food in the middle of the night and that was good news to Mommy and Daddy. We also went around a little in San Francsico but didn't stay long.

That wraps it up. Now we have to run to the drugstore to get some gas drops for me so I can feel 100% better!

BART and San Francisco

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy helped Daddy's friends move to a new appartment. I was good except it was HOT and I didn't like being in my stroller as cool as it is, air conditioned it is not! But Mommy took me out and we visited with the people that helped. We also got my birth announcements! Mommy will soon be getting them in the mail. She needs to get a picture resized and it's just a matter of addressing them and sending them out!

Today Daddy took me and Mommy to San Francisco. We took BART and had no troubles with the people on the street. I only got fussy when it was time for me to eat and that was on the way home.

Long car ride in the afternoon

Yesterday Mommy had her appointments with her doctors so Daddy and I went with her and then we went back to Daddy's work to meet a few more people that didn't get to see me when I was there last. After a meeting Daddy had to go to, We went to the DMV and Mommy can drive again! She is very happy and now thinking about renting a car for when Grandma comes to town again. When we were done with the DMV we went through San Francisco to a new Whole Foods, to get some dinner and some items that we need for the house. Daddy wanted to go a different way, but ended up in rush hour traffic! We were all cranky and tired and wanted to get home by the time we got to the store. We ended the day very late and Mommy got cranky (and later appologized for it) at Daddy because again I kept Mommy up and Daddy was snoring.

On my side I am 5 weeks old tomorrow and getting the hang of the small world I am now inhabiting. I am learning about clean vs dirty diapers, Mommy and Daddy are very happy and very tired. Teaching Mommy my crys and coos and trying to smile each day. Dreading Tummy Time, though my neck and arms and legs get a work out every day as Mommy and Daddy keep doing tummy time with me!

As we speak I am waiting for Mommy to finish lunch. Hurry Mommy!

Mommy had a little sleep

Yesterday was an all day affair with me and Mommy or is it Mommy and I, I don't know. Any way yesterday I only had an hour nap and was up about 8 hrs. Talk about your long day! I was very fussy and Mommy was very tired from the night before, because again I woke up at 2 am and didn't go to sleep till 6 and woke up again at 8am then took a nap around 12. So Mommy didn't get her nap on and Daddy came home late because he had to work.

I was passed to Daddy after Mommy stated she needed some sleep and she went to sleep in the living room as I was in there with Daddy. She wanted to be there if there was any trouble with me. As the night wore on I was placed in my car seat and put on the bassinet's rails and it made a swing for me and as Daddy rocked me I went fast asleep. Mommy was still in the living room when I awoke in my C0-Sleeper and pestered Daddy for something to eat. He fixed a bottle and that awoke Mommy. I ate the formula and then Mommy held me for a while so that I would be comforted and then placed me back in the Co-Sleeper and I went back to sleep in an hour instead of 4!

Wow Mommy feels like she could basically do anything right now. She is looking at me in the car seat and debating if she should wake me for my lunch. Even though I can wake myself up with some hunger pains, Mommy doesn't like to hear me cry! But as I said Mommy got some sleep last night and wonders if its a new trend or did I go easy on Daddy as I did stay awake for 8 hrs. yesterday.

I am one month old today!

I am a whole month old. I can't believe it neither can my Daddy or my Mommy. It was celebrated with a bath and a bunch of pictures and a visit from a person named Tom, Mommy and Daddy's friend from San Francisco. It was a fun visit because when he was done we went to San Francisco to drop him off and then went back home and watched an old movie. I was happy and content from the car ride and a full tummy.

Mommy and Daddy have a tough road a head due to my sleep schedule. Daddy thinks now I have gotten into a schedule because this is the 4th night I have woken up around 10pm and not gotten to sleep till 2am or 3. Mommy hopes its not going to last because when she can't go to work with only 2-4 hrs sleep unless she sleeps immediately after work and skips dinner. But that is two months away. She hopes my sleep goes back to at least to their normal soon. I don't know if I can do that just yet.

Tomorrow I will be 1 Month old!

How time flies when your first born. Last month at this time Mommy was in the hospital getting an induction and waiting for me to come out. All the family was hinged on me coming into this world very healthy and happy. I have experienced a lot since I came out. Mommy is very happy that I came into this world with out any damage from the car accident that happened when I was in her tummy, though she can't be 100% sure that there might be a problem latter on, but now I am happy and very healthy.

Today, I woke up and spit out all the yucky vitamins the doctor has Mommy giving me and didn't take a nap till 2:30 in the afternoon! I guess Mommy wanted me to sleep earlier but I wasn't tired. Daddy and Mommy finally took me out in the car and I fell asleep in Baker's Square while they were eating lunch.

Tomorrow Mommy is going to take a 1 month picture as she will do every month for a while. She wants to document every little thing I do but I keep her very busy and tired at least for now. I will lighten up on Mommy some time in the near future but not right now.

Right now Daddy's at home working from home on his computer he says the thing he is working on is broken but only Mommy seems to understand what daddy is talking about.

Enjoy the evening!

Crazy Two days!

So Monday night I went to sleep and woke up at 3:3o am and couldn't get back to sleep except for a two hour nap me and Mommy took. Then the rest of the day with out a nap and drove Mommy nuts with frustration. Daddy didn't get much sleep either but went to work in the morning. After that me and Mommy spent the whole day trying to see which one of us would just collapse. It was Mommy, she had to feed me formula just to see if I was hungry. And I was. But Mommy thinks it was a few sips of caffeine that she had the previous night to make me the crazy baby. Daddy had to take Mommy and me out to dinner because Mommy wanted to go out. I went out with them and passed out in my stroller and then kept quite. Mommy and Daddy were very happy at this point.

Today after a peaceful night sleep (I woke up twice and Mommy got to sleep a bit), we all went to San Francisco to get Mommy's medical records. Daddy dropped us off and we were alone for the first time in a long time. We got the medical records and went around to find if we could take the shuttle downtown so that Mommy could fax it to her work's Short term disability place. She decided to fax it from work because it was over 50 pages and she didn't want to fax it with her own monies. The shuttle from the hospital didn't go down town by the time she asked the bus driver so we took the bus! I couldn't see much but Mommy took real good care of me, when we did stop she walked to Kinko's and that's where she figured her work would absorb the cost of the fax. Then we walked to Wells Fargo and got stamps then went to Macy's to give the letter to the Post office. After that I had to be changed. That started the big hunt for the bathroom. When we got to the bathroom, there were changing places but no lounge for Mommy to feed me. I was changed and then was crying a bit to be fed, so Mommy went to the waiting chairs and fed me there. She thought it was the best place but also thought she was going to be thrown out because she wasn't sure if Macy's had a policy about no breast feeding in the store. To her surprise no one mentioned anything and was also scared when I spit up on the seat. It wasn't as bad as the back of her shirt but you could tell something spilled on the back of the chair.

I think she wanted have some one say something as she could have sued them and got mounds of monies for a settlement so that the other mommies could have a place in Macy's to feed their babies.

Any way, after that we went to her old work at the Metreon, I guess to show me off again to her old friends and show me where Daddy and Mommy met. When we got there, it was closed and everything gone. So we walked to Bloomingdale's to get to the BART train. My official first time out side Mommy's tummy! I was sleeping and made some fussy noises but wasn't crying. We walked home but didn't stop at the mall as Mommy wanted to change my diaper and get some down time.

The mail man came and delivered Mommy's birthday gift from Grandma. Its some teething jewelry that I can chew on. She wants to thank Grandma and Auntie for the nice gift. I will be chewing on it in no time!

Chill day and a bath

Today all of us slept in, except for Mommy who was up feeding me but we had a good snuggle between feedings. Daddy fed the cats and went back to sleep. Then we went out to the hallmark store for Mommy to get the birth announcements. It's not too late to get them out, I think, also she needs to get the Thank You cards out. It might be the same day that they arrive together! After that we went to Costco and bought provisions for Mommy and Daddy. They were thinking about buying me more wipes but we have plenty for now. If not Daddy can buy more on the way home.

People there kept starring at me. Have they not seen a baby before? I was hungry so Mommy fed me there and while I was crying some guy says it gets better while showing his own kid in the shopping cart. I didn't know you got babbies at that store.

Mommy is more relaxed about my feedings. I am getting heavier and the milk is keeping me full or at least putting me to sleep. I have wet diapers and poo ones two in the last 3 days so Mommy feels better about not giving me a bottle even when Daddy suggests it. I don't care either way because I am getting food.

Daddy gave me a bath so I smell really good right now. Got to go my diaper needs to be changed!

My first 4th of July

Yesterday was fun, it was Mommy's 30th birthday and I am 3 weeks old! She said it was anniversary of the day she was born because she can't be born each year. Daddy got Mommy a new gaming system, which she can take pictures of me and daddy. She calls it a DSi from Nintendo. Daddy also got a birthday card and wrote my name as well. I also had no formula yesterday! All my food came from Mommy. She said it was the best birthday present for her. I was confused because I was under the impression that people gave you birthday presents not you give your self the birthday gift. Oh well. Grandpa J came to visit and we went down to Birlingame to have a birthday lunch. I just sat in my car seat and watched the people go by with my eyes closed. After lunch they went for Ice Cream and I again watched. What can a baby do besides that until they can eat solid foods. Mommy went shopping and got some type of belly support that helps her suck in her tummy and some tops to wear so that she doesn't have to all ways pull up her shirt when feeding me.

Today daddy, mommy and I went shopping for things I can play with along with things for them like food. Here is the Tummy time mat they got me:
I really haven't used it but I am looking forward to using it. The only difference between the picture and my mat is that the pillow is green not blue. Pictures of me and the mat will arrive in email and not on the website. Mommy says there are too many crazy people out there and it would be better if I didn't get any fans out in cyberspace, just yet.

In preparation for the 4th of July, Mommy had Daddy close the windows of the house. There were some loud Booms the other day and the kitties were scattered every which way. Occasionally Daddy thought Mommy fell or hurt her self and so they didn't want to have those noises come inside. I think we can still hear them but not as loud as when the windows were open. Well I am going to nap for a while so that I can give mommy some time to collect her thoughts! I guess Happy 4th of July to all... I think I need to learn why this day is important sometime in the future.

Trying to teach Mommy

Since I am alone with mom all day for now, I am trying to teach mommy all about my cries. When
I'm hungry, tired and just need attention. I think she is still having trouble, but is getting better in some respects. There are a couple of cries mommy still needs to master.

Yesterday, mommy got dressed all by herself, but we didn't go anywhere. Mommy was tired from waking up every two hours to feed me. Mommy got my car seat all clean and now has to work on the bassinet as it has gotten dirty. Also she needs to wash some of my things. who knew being two weeks old there would be a lot of laundry just for me.

Today mommy feels better but her medication for her head is still making her very sleepy! Daddy has been talking to mommy about the change that might occur if she goes back to her old medication. I might become a formula baby full time instead of part time. I don't know how mommy feels, but when I look up at her she seems very sad to give Breastfeeding up because she knows its very good for my health. But then again I don't want my mommy to cry and cry because she doesn't know what to do about this situation. Daddy says its ok, I really just want to get fed at the times when I am hungry and I don't want mommy to feel any pain because she is worried she's not feeding me enough from her breasts because of my need for a bit more food than some one who is smaller than me.

I also found out yesterday that Mom and Dad's friends Dan and Michelle are going to have a baby in January of 2010! They don't know if its a boy baby or girl baby yet, so mommy's going to venture a guess of a Boy, since its got to be a 50/50 chance.

First Doctors Visit and went to daddy's work

Went to the Medical offices again for my first two week check-up. Here are my stats: I am now 10lbs 3oz, 22 inches long, and my head measures (around) at 39cm. I am at the top of the charts the doctors say. I also had an explosive episode that got all over my car seat. Mom's going to have to do some laundry tomorrow! Daddy cleaned it up the best he could, but its better if my mommy washes it all clean tomorrow. They also told mommy and daddy that I need a Multivitamin supplement that I need to have to grow big and strong (Tasted it just a few minutes ago and spit all of it up.. Mommy needs to try again tomorrow with the vitamins).

After that (two hours long!) we all went to Daddy's work where it was HOT! Not just the out side but the inside as well! Every one that was there thought I was cute and a bundle of joy. I started to cry because it was hot and I didn't want to be there! The chocolate cigars were all but mush but it was a good thought and I heard it made Daddy happy and it looked like they were all but gone!

Tomorrow, Mommy is all by herself without Grandma or Daddy, so wish her luck!

Two weeks 2 days old; Sleeping eating and just tired!

From day 11 to now I have been spending my days with the family. On Thursday, Grandpa J spent some time with me and mom. He came down to visit me and mom. He gave us some pretty flowers called Carnations. Daddy didn't go to work that day either but he went to lunch with Grandma. We took a walk to the mall and went to BJ's. Mom and her dad had lunch while I sat and was quiet till the end. After that we went home and it was my turn to eat. After a quick nap for all of us. My dad came and surprised us with a new chairs and table for the back yard. There were only two chairs but mom got the camera out and took pictures of Grandma and Grandpa J with me. Then mom and I got a few pictures taken as well. This time mom didn't look too doped up.

Yesterday, I met my second grandpa. He was interesting. He didn't want to hold me but was very nice and complemented me on my eyes when I did open them. Then after grandma dropped 2nd Grandpa off at his car, we all went to Tanforan and met up with Auntie, Uncle and Cousin. We ate again at BJ's and they spent some time talking while I again slept. When we came home we bid farewell to Grandma, I guess she doesn't live as close as I thought she did. Some place up in Washington State. I am going to miss her! She had a calming effect for mom and I.

Today was chill day for daddy, mommy and I. We really didn't do much besides stay in bed for most of the morning and mommy got breakfast in bed. Then with me went back to sleep. After noon daddy went and got something called Pho-Retto which is code for Burrieto and Pho Soup. I was a bit fussy since I didn't get anything but I was happy to see daddy again and some time soon I hope I can enjoy what they get to eat!

I am getting a little fussy so I better go! Tomorrow I go to the doctors and go to my daddy's work. I all ready went to mommy's work so I get to see some different people. More tomorrow!

Just me and Mom on day 11

I felt really good that today I got to spend it alone with my mommy. We got to nap in the morning and hang out. Mommy actually got to use the baby monitor that she got for a baby shower present from Uncle A. I tested it out with a few screams and even with mommy in the next room it was amazing! I did poo twice (with out daddy being here) and actually had to take a bath again (yuck) because mommy didn't put the dipper on tight enough and got all over the both of us! Mommy actually fed me a bottle of formula because I ate most of mommy's milk because I am growing. Daddy came home just in time for mommy to take a shower and she got something to eat. I am going to sign off because I need my rest if I am going to have another full day tomorrow!

10th day out and about; An all Ladies day

Today I am 10 days old and it was the first day daddy went back to work for the first time in over a week and a half! Mommy and I got to spend the morning together. Grandma came and took mommy and me to a restaurant called Bakers Square and then went up to San Francisco to the hospital again. This time it was for my mommy and not for me (Yea!). I had to be changed so we went up to the 6th floor of the medical building and got to be changed and feed there. A lady told us that the room for nursing moms just opened two weeks ago. very covenant for mom and I. so we went up there and mommy thought we had a bit more time than we did because we ended up running to the other medical building for mom's appointment. Grandma had her exercise along with mommy. Mommy was called in right away to the doctors and she was given a clean bill of health!
After that mommy had to pick up some medication that was due to the hospital stays she went through and then we went back to the other medical building for mommy to sign a paper for something and then me, mommy and Grandma went back to her hotel room and Grandma got to "surf the net" as mommy put it.
After that my daddy appeared and we ate at the Red Lobster.Well I didn't eat there but every one else did and I was a sleep. It's a very busy day for some one like me being so young.

Hi and Welcome

(Me only 6 hrs old; photo taken by Bob Terry)

This is the first entry of the Bella Blog! It happens to be Father's day as well! I am 9 days old and my mom and dad love me very much!
I was born on June 12, 2009 at 3:52 in the morning by emergency C-Section due to the fact I was a bit too big for my mom to have me naturally. When I came out I was 9 pounds 13 oz and 20 inches long!

The first 3 days of life my mom, dad and I, stayed at the hospital were there was a lot of bonding with friends and family. I got my very first bath and got used to the out side world (its a wild place and noisy!). I was released with mommy on Monday the 15th and was taken by grandma to my home. I met my big brother and big sister (both what daddy calls cats), and got to see where I will be living.

The 4th day (June 16th) I had to go to the hospital for a blood test for a condition called Jaundice. It's normal in babies but the prick on my heal hurt! They also did the test in the hospital, but it doesn't stop it from hurting! When it was done mom had to feed me and we went to a different room in the medical center and a nice lady took us to the back and let mommy feed me, also looked at my weight and color. Mommy and Daddy didn't know it but we were there to see her a little later, we unfortunately made every one late for the rest of the day! I saw another baby that was born on the same day as I, his nickname was "The Boss" though I didn't get a very good look at him. We were told that I needed more blood work since my levels went up to 18. So we needed to come back in two days to get more blood work done so that the doctors can see if I needed to go back to the hospital.

The 5th day (June 17th) we spent relaxing with grandma and I got my second bath. Mommy and daddy are both exhausted from looking after me but I can not look after myself at the moment!

The 6th day of my life (June 18th) was half spent in San Francisco to get my blood drawn again. Mommy told the nurse to put a lot of pressure on the cut because I bleed all over the place! Then we went to the lobby of the Lactation center so that I could get fed by mommy as I was crying because the wound in my foot hurt! Good news is that I don't have to go back for testing! The Jaundice count is down!

The 7th day (June 19th) of my life was scary! The morning and mid afternoon was spent with grandma and mommy and daddy picking out things for Father's day and little bits of foods. Also went to Mommy's work so she could give them paper work to prove I exist. Silly people. They oohed and awed at me, but most of them were at home. We went back to the hotel room and then the scary part happened. Mommy called the advice nurse as she had trouble breathing and wanted to call to see if it was normal as the not breathing part. When she got to the ER, the doctor had to admit her in the Hospital in the afternoon because she couldn't breath all too good. I didn't get to say good bye because of all the sick people. Daddy took me home with his sister and she watched me as daddy went back to comfort mommy. I was fed formula as mommy couldn't give me breast milk as the medication could be harmful to me.

The 8th day of life, yesterday June 20th, Mommy was still in the hospital and daddy gave me kisses from her but it wasn't the same as from her. I got to go to Aunt A's Birthday Party with Daddy and Grandma. I got passed around and a joke from one of the people there stated that another baby boy was my prom date. I don't know what prom dates are but they sound yucky! Went with Grandma as daddy went to see mommy again at the hospital. I was spending time with Grandma when who should appear MOMMY! I was very happy to see her again and she was crying as she was holding me because that's what mom's do when they haven't seen their babies. While I was with Grandma my bit of umblical cord that was attached, fell off. Mommy has it now but Gradma threw it away at first.

Today, as I stated I am 9 days old and today was Father's day! I spent it with my Grandpa J and my daddy. Mommy bought a Grandpa day card for me since I don't really know this holiday yet. I spent part of the morning in the car and went to a place called Yellow Submarine with Grandpa, daddy and mommy. I was fast asleep during the time they spent at the restaurant. Then we went back to Grandpa's home and I was fed there. Daddy took a small nap and mommy was passing out as we were sitting there enjoying classical music and just a good sense of relief that the family is back together again! Mommy says more pictures are on the way to every one and she will keep writing in this blog till when ever so please stay tuned!
